Ascendance - The update will be released on Jun 7th


Hi, darlings!

Since my part-time work gave us a break this past week, I was able to focus on Ascendance for a few more hours a day before my mid-terms (lucky timing!).

So! I now have the rest of part one fully ready, and I'm currently playtesting it. You can already start bidding your farewells to our cute early green demo! 🥺❤ Jun 7th is literally around the corner!

Also! In case any of you are considering starting an IF or moving to Twine, this template helped me a lot with grammar issues related to pronouns that I was having, as well as with some other features (notifications and autosaving? Hello!). Thank you!

What I did in the past two weeks:

Dev:

  • Finished up writing part one of Asc-if, making the average playthrough go from ~16277 words to ~28089 words (according to Twine, we're at 75210 words total);
  • Edited, reviewed, and am playtesting the above XD;
  • Polished the additional menus a little bit;
  • Picked sound effects for some new scenes.
  • We've got... trigger warnings now.

Tech:

  • You'll be notified whenever you unlock a menu/menu entry;
  • I will be autosaving for you here and there, like a good mother;
  • Added some more fun info (Oenpôe, for instance, is a Jupiterian flower);
  • Some choices actually start weighting on your relationship with the LI's now;
  • Friendship vs relationship route differences are subtle for now, but they're there lol;
  • Other minor adjustments have also been made. e.g.:


"The game crashes/bugs when I save and I have to restart" 

I'm aware that some players have had issues with the savings menu crashing/not being exterminable when opened, especially on phones... I can't seem to find the source of that problem, but I'm trying my best to hopefully prevent that from happening in the next update!
